After having played for 15 minutes, Lucas Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapecoense F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucas Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Duarte Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Giovanni Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Válbson Luz came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Taboao SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Luz couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Chapecoense F.C's Cauan do Nascimento got control of the ball when Válbson Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 34 minutes, Vladimir Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chapecoense F.C and the Taboao SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chapecoense F.C's Vladimir Miranda got a free kick in the 34th minute. Cauan do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When Luciano da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Taboao SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano da Rocha couldn't finish the play. Válbson Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Cauan do Nascimento made a huge save. 42 minutes into the game, Giovanni Fantini recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cauan do Nascimento. Giovanni Fantini showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Giovanni Fantini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cauan do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Vladimir Miranda hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The supporters of Chapecoense F.C booed when Taboao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Marquinhos Bezerra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Taboao SS's Duarte Mesquita didn't even have to move. Lucas Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Mesquita having to interfere. Duarte Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Fellipe Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Duarte Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Betão Moreira's late challenge caught a Chapecoense F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betão Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Taboao SS got a freekick which was hit by Betão Moreira. Válbson Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cauan do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Chapecoense F.C's Cauan do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Luz in the 83rd minute of play. If Válbson Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Fantini in the 88th minute of play forced Chapecoense F.C's goalkeeper Cauan do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cauan do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Luz in the 96th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
