Valdo Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Barral in the 3rd minute of play. Valdo Prestes made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Augusto Prado sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Augusto Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parnarama AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdo Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. BOTAFOGO's Valdo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Linares in the 15th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Eduardo de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th match minute, Parnarama AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cido Barral to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fabiano Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovânio Fernandes in the 21st minute of play. BOTAFOGO's Valdo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Linares in the 24th minute of play. If Augusto Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Prado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Valdo Prestes made a huge save. Nilson Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Valdo Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, BOTAFOGO's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Augusto Prado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jeferson Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilson Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. BOTAFOGO's Geovânio Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Marinho in the 44th minute of play forced Parnarama AD's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilson Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nilson Linares made a kick off. Valdo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilson Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Prado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdo Prestes having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in BOTAFOGO's zone, Nilson Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdo Prestes came out of the goal and Nilson Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 70 minutes into the match, Parnarama AD's Augusto Prado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdo Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Dorian de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Prado in the 72nd minute of the match. Valdo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilson Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovânio Fernandes in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Parnarama AD got a freekick which was hit by Cido Barral. Jeferson Marinho in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luiz Fabiano Vides, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nilson Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Prestes having to interfere. Valdo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Linares in the 93rd minute of the match. BOTAFOGO's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
