Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Geovânio Fernandes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Valdo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Valdo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionísio Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeferson Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Prestes having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Dionísio Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Papacaio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dionísio Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute Oséas Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionísio Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Oséas Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Prestes was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Eduardo de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eduardo de Sena hit a great ball. During the 24th minute of the match Eduardo de Sena completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Eduardo de Sena a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Eduardo de Sena got a free kick in the 25th minute. The audience was convinced that Oséas Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Prestes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After having played for 29 minutes, Dionísio Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dionísio Mello in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdo Prestes saved BOTAFOGO from getting behind. Oséas Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Prestes having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Dionísio Mello notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of BOTAFOGO's Valdo Prestes. Valdo Prestes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oséas Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Dorian de Brito hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionísio Mello got free with Valdo Prestes in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 played minutes BOTAFOGO got a freekick which was hit by Dorian de Brito. Dionísio Mello struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Valdo Prestes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Papacaio. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Sá during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for BOTAFOGO! Papacaio's Dionísio Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeferson Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Prestes having to interfere. Carlos Eduardo Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vágner Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Oséas Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dionísio Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute, Oséas Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Papacaio walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
