Kaká Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but João Adolfo Albuquerque made a huge save. After 17 played minutes Tejussuoca got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Lago. When Richard de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C CORINTHIANS's protests and gave Richard de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, S.C CORINTHIANS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard de Souza to maneuver through the defense. If Ronaldo Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. S.C CORINTHIANS's João Adolfo Albuquerque proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save S.C CORINTHIANS from getting a goal against them. João Adolfo Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaká Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but João Adolfo Albuquerque made a huge save. Walmir Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Tejussuoca's João Adolfo Albuquerque threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Walmir Lago, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice moves João Pedro Porto could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which João Adolfo Albuquerque however easily saved by the left post. In the 43rd minute João Pedro Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Adolfo Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Luiz Fabiano Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmir Lago to make the kick off. A collision led to S.C CORINTHIANS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fernando Brito hit a great ball. Walmir Lago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Adolfo Albuquerque having to make a save. João Adolfo Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Ronaldo Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C CORINTHIANS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cléberson Brito struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Baltazar Borges didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C CORINTHIANS. In the 67th minute, João Pedro Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 74th play minutes Kaká Garcia shot 1-1, a short shot which went by João Adolfo Albuquerque and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 79thth minute of the game Ronaldo Pimenta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tejussuoca's Baltazar Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 83 played minutes Ronaldo Pimenta rounded Tejussuoca's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. 89 minutes into the game, S.C CORINTHIANS's Caco Donato nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltazar Borges made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3.
