When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Carlos Fonseca took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Cauã Loureiro to make any attempt to save it. Cauã Loureiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luiz Gustavo Pombal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 48 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Mello to make the kick off.
