The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cléber Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sidney da Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Luiz Paulo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Gil Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 28 minutes into the match, Marcelo Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gil Paes. Ines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anselmo Faustino in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléber Barbosa saved Quizaba FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Faustino in the 35th minute of play forced Quizaba FC's goalkeeper Cléber Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cléber Barbosa came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ines's Anselmo Faustino. But to his dismay, Anselmo Faustino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 40 minutes into the game, Zé Pedro Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quizaba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ines the free kick. Sidney da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Anselmo Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Luiz Paulo Reis made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ines getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Sydney Mota hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Castro in the 53rd minute of play forced Ines's goalkeeper Gil Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Cléber Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Luiz Paulo Reis sped through Ines's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gil Paes. A collision led to Quizaba FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Reis hit a great ball. With his leg Cléber Barbosa managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Ines's Sidney da Fonseca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Quizaba FC's Cléber Barbosa got control of the ball when Sidney da Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Zé Pedro Tepedino was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. After 76 played minutes Quizaba FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Tepedino. Sidney da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Cléber Barbosa made a huge save. Quizaba FC's Cléber Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Quizaba FC from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Ciro Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidney da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cléber Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Queirós in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléber Barbosa saved Quizaba FC from getting behind. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quizaba FC's goalkeeper Cléber Barbosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anselmo Faustino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quizaba FC's Cléber Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Quizaba FC from getting a goal against them. Ines were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
