The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tuina SC's zone, Jonathan Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Alves came out of the goal and Jonathan Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hélio Koehler's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Richard Sousa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Válbson Cruz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cacá Alves. In the 15th match minute, Tuina SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Torres to maneuver through the defense. Cacá Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válbson Cruz's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Tuina SC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Vander came free, but Cacá Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Válbson Cruz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Tuina SC's Cacá Alves. Cacá Alves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cacá Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Peres in the 24th minute of the match. When Agostinho Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tuina SC's protests and gave Agostinho Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tuina SC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Agostinho Nogueira hit a great ball. Válbson Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benê Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cacá Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélio Koehler in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tuina SC's zone, Clóvis Paraíba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Alves came out of the goal and Clóvis Paraíba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Cruz in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cacá Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Cacá Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válbson Cruz's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Benê Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélio Koehler might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélio Koehler ran back to his position shaking his head. After 56 played minutes Tuina SC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Donato. Cacá Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clóvis Paraíba in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Cruz in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cacá Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tuina SC's Agostinho Nogueira got a free kick in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's Válbson Cruz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cacá Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nilson Cunha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Sousa. Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Atlético Mineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Peres to maneuver through the defense. Válbson Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Alves having to interfere. In the 80th minute Hélio Koehler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Tuina SC's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Cruz came free, but Cacá Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético Mineiro's Válbson Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Atlético Mineiro could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tuina SC throughout the match.
