In the 12th match minute, Euca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Varela to maneuver through the defense. Vinícius Galvão hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Frédson Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benê da Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benê da Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benê da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Juninho Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Euca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho Coutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Euca booed when Macatuba EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Hermínio Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Coutinho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. If Luís Guilherme Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juninho Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Hermínio Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Euca. 48 minutes into the match, Ian Montenegro notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Euca's Sidney Schmidt. Sidney Schmidt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho Coutinho to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Frédson Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 56 played minutes Macatuba EC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Arantes. Hermínio Reis came out of the goal and Juninho Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 83 minutes into the match, Euca's goalkeeper Sidney Schmidt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frédson Varela. Ian Montenegro hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Hermínio Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Coutinho in the 91st minute of the match. Juninho Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Reis having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 98th minute by Frédson Varela got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Macatuba EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
