The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ibicuitinga SS. 14 minutes into the match, Tiago de Barros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cacá Salgado, 2-0. Germano de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Alcântara in the 21st minute of play. Fernandinho Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson Vinhas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cacá Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. If Tiago de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Patrício Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fernandinho Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. Ibicuitinga SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
