Doni da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Ferreira having to interfere. Adelino Félix might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Tinoco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Júlio Diniz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Aranau's Gustavo Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Arruda in the 33rd minute of play.
