The supporters of Pongai booed when Zezito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílton Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zezito's Adhemar Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Garcia in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Donato Veloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldinho Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Tinoco having to interfere. Oscar Passos might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adhemar Tinoco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oscar Passos ran back to his position shaking his head. If Donato Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldinho Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pongai's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cássio Silva in the 53rd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Diogo Quaresma heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kauã Messias during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Zezito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauã Messias to maneuver through the defense.
