Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cafu Seco took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Cavalos's Aílton Domingues got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Fernandinho Gaúcho hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Cláudio de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Passos having to interfere. Cavalos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Cafu Seco scored to the left of an out of position Dorival Passos, making the score, 1-0. Álvaro Prestes's late challenge caught a Cavalos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes Cotias got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Prestes. Cavalos's Virgílio Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Cavalos getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Leonardo Moura hit a great ball. Cafu Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Passos having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Cavalos's Hamílton Pinheiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hamílton Pinheiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cavalos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hamílton Pinheiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 36 minutes into the game, one of Cavalos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dorival Passos went to the wrong direction when Joaquim da Cunha was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Dorival Passos came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Cotias's Diamantino Romero. But to his dismay, Diamantino Romero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgílio Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgílio Madureira got free with Donato Gaúcho in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cavalos's Dorival Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Romero in the 57th minute of play. Diamantino Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dorival Passos having to make a save. Cotias's Donato Gaúcho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Cotias from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celsinho Sanches during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Cavalos got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Sanches. After having played for 65 minutes, Cafu Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cotias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cafu Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Virgílio Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cafu Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Dorival Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cafu Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Passos having to interfere. Cafu Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Cotias's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
