After 28 played minutes, Moncao's Romeu Netto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Moncao reached it. In the 35th match minute, Moncao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Couto to maneuver through the defense. After 38 minutes Moncao's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Caetano Hoffmann who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Caetano Hoffmann got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zé Pedro Leão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 44 minutes of play Cruzalia's Juarês Carneiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 44th minute, Juarês Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute of the match Moncao got a corner. Cruzalia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Romeu Netto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Moncao's Romeu Netto to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Silva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

The wind increased when Vítor Negri made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Raúl Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzalia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Cavalcante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vítor Negri in the 55th minute of play. Nestor Cruz hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The supporters of Moncao booed when Cruzalia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Moncao getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Vítor Negri hit a great ball. Raúl Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Moncao's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl Cavalcante came free, but Zé Pedro Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
