Donato Goiano's late challenge caught a Cascadura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato Goiano helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Augusto Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 16th minute Júlio Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cascadura's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Gaúcho came free, but Wágner Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Taquarinha SC's Dino Teixeira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 21st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cascadura. Carlos Augusto Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Catarinense in the 24th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Gaúcho in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wágner Brodel saved Cascadura from getting behind. Donato Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Carlos Augusto Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Catarinense in the 35th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarcisio Soeiro in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Augusto Lira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Augusto Lira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tarcisio Soeiro went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In a very dangerous position, a player in Taquarinha SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! Adhemar Santana shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Carlos Augusto Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tarcisio Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Gaúcho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Albertinho Guimarães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cascadura and the Taquarinha SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Taquarinha SC's Roberto Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Júlio Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Júlio Gaúcho made a precise shot to the right of Wágner Brodel. Cascadura's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Cascadura's Albertinho Guimarães got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Cascadura's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Gaúcho came free, but Wágner Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júlio Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Wágner Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Gaúcho in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wágner Brodel saved Cascadura from getting behind. A collision led to Taquarinha SC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Álvaro Ferraz hit a great ball. Yuri Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Wágner Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Manuel Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the game, Júlio Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Wágner Brodel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Taquarinha SC's Donato Goiano got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Donato Goiano off the ground. Donato Goiano hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Taquarinha SC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cascadura for a fine match.
