In the 8th minute, Carlos Eduardo Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute, Giuseppe Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Adalberto Faria fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Queimados's protests and gave Adalberto Faria a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Queimados getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Kauan Rossi hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Sofre's Luís Fábio Antunes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Valério Araújo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, one of Queimados:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luís Fábio Antunes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Leonardo Batista hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sofre's zone, Elano de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Leme came out of the goal and Elano de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 minutes, Jorginho Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sofre and the Queimados players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sofre's goalkeeper Thomás Leme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Elano de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elano de Amorim got free with Thomás Leme in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Válter Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute, Nilmar Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Elano de Amorim made the kick off in the second half. Thomás Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elano de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After 56 played minutes Sofre got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Batista. If Elano de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Victor Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Queimados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomás Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano de Amorim in the 66th minute of play. In the 70th minute Válter Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Bertassi hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Elano de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomás Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Elano de Amorim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Queimados fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Elano de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomás Leme having to make a save. Elano de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomás Leme having to interfere.
