With a little luck, Marmeleiro SC's Dé Torres got control of the ball when Nilson Sabóia tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Nilson Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vota's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilson Sabóia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerson Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 18 minutes, Gernando Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marmeleiro SC and the Vota players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Marmeleiro SC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gernando Almeida hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Vota got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Pinheiro. When Marmeleiro SC's Elano Quintal in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vota's goalie prevented a goal. When Elano Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Marmeleiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elano Quintal couldn't finish the play. Elano Quintal hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Gerson Prata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dé Torres came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerson Prata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Gerson Prata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dé Torres was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elano Quintal in the 34th minute of play forced Vota's goalkeeper Narciso Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Veiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dé Torres. Marmeleiro SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vota's zone, Sílvio Luiz Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Pinho came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Narciso Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 46 minutes into the game, Elói Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marmeleiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vota the free kick. Elói Severo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Vota's Luiz Fábio Lira shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dé Torres but with some difficulty. 48 minutes into the match, Vota's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Quintal came free, but Narciso Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Elano Quintal made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes Vota's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yan Amorim who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Marmeleiro SC's Yan Amorim to fire away a dangerous shot which Narciso Pinho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Narciso Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sílvio Luiz Ferraz in the 56th minute. Elano Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
