Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christiano Ceresso started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Galena booed when Piedade FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Piedade FC's zone, José Augusto Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Luz came out of the goal and José Augusto Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Wilson Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piedade FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilson Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Abreu in the 10th minute of the match. 1-0 became the score in the 11th minute when João Adolfo Abreu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. José Augusto Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Júlio Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galena. Júlio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiano Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piedade FC's Júlio Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Sampaio in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto Sampaio in the 26th minute of play forced Piedade FC's goalkeeper Júlio Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Christiano Ceresso, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 29 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Júlio Luz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. João Adolfo Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Catarinense having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Adolfo Abreu in the 39th minute of play forced Galena's goalkeeper Elias Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremias Maia in the 43rd minute. If João Adolfo Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Catarinense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Adolfo Abreu's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Elias Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 52 played minutes Galena got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Azevedo. Galena's José Augusto Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elias Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Maia in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Piedade FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. João Adolfo Abreu hit a great ball. Júlio Luz made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when José Augusto Sampaio sent off a good shot on target.
