If Mário Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovânio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vitório de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jupariteua's Laércio Senna got a free kick in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Fortinho's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pires came free, but Doni Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes, Cícero Melo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jupariteua and the Fortinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Cícero Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovânio Fontes was a little too slow when Mário Trancoso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. 29 minutes into the match, Jupariteua's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Cerezo came free, but Geovânio Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Jupariteua's Geovânio Fontes got control of the ball when Mathias Mumbach tried to sneak it across the goal line. Doni Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório de Souza in the 35th minute of play. When Mathias Mumbach came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Fortinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Mumbach couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute, Fortinho's Mário Trancoso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 43rd minute, Juninho Pires left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jupariteua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Mathias Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mário Trancoso made the kick off in the second half. Fortinho's Doni Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Pires in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathias Mumbach in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovânio Fontes saved Jupariteua from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Mário Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Geovânio Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 63 played minutes Jupariteua got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Motta. Geovânio Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Geovânio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 76 minutes, Mathias Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fortinho's Mathias Mumbach got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Leal during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Fortinho getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Tadeu Leal hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Jupariteua's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Trancoso came free, but Geovânio Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Fortinho's Mathias Mumbach sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geovânio Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Doni Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Pires in the 95th minute of play. Vitório de Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Doni Guerra made a huge save. Fortinho's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
