Walmyr Lima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 35 minutes into the game, Dinei Simão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MDS Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taciua SC the free kick. The supporters of Taciua SC booed when MDS Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquinhos Loureiro hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 46th match minute, Taciua SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Freire to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

With a little luck, MDS Futebol Clube's Walmyr Lima got control of the ball when Dinei Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ademir Cavalcante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Taciua SC's Álvaro Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir Cavalcante in the 58th minute of play. Álvaro Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinei Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Valdir Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Álvaro Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Gonçalves in the 68th minute of play. Dinei Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Taciua SC's zone, Ademir Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álvaro Moreira came out of the goal and Ademir Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Taciua SC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Marcos Quaresma hit a great ball. Álvaro Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind MDS Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Walmyr Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Vítor Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Moreira having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademir Cavalcante in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Álvaro Moreira saved Taciua SC from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
