After 15 played minutes Lagradouro FC got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Freitas. After a defensive mix-up in Lagradouro FC's zone, Raimundo Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico Azevedo came out of the goal and Raimundo Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Evandro Batista notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Lagradouro FC's Frederico Azevedo. Frederico Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Lagradouro FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Mateus Botelho hit a great ball. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Abacate FC! Zé Paulo de Carvalho had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Umberto Camargo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Edgar Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Zé Paulo de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adhemar Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th match minute, Abacate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Amorim to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute Lagradouro FC were awarded a corner. Umberto Camargo went to the cornerflag to take it. Edgar Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo de Carvalho having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Antunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frederico Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Antunes in the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 55 minutes, Edgar Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagradouro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 57 minutes into the game, Erasmo Tróia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagradouro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abacate FC the free kick. In the 58th match minute, Lagradouro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Tróia to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Lagradouro FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Betinho Freitas hit a great ball. Zé Paulo de Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgar Lara in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute Adhemar Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Umberto Camargo, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edgar Laras short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Zé Paulo de Carvalho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adhemar Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Edgar Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagradouro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar Lara struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Zé Paulo de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lagradouro FC.
