When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Arlindo Ceresso sped through Gatos EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wágner Porto. After a defensive mix-up in Biquinhas's zone, Gerson Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Rocha came out of the goal and Gerson Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th match minute, Gatos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Bastos to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Biquinhas's goalkeeper Murilo Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cauã Bastos. Wágner Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomás Souto's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arlindo Ceresso in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wágner Porto saved Gatos EC from getting behind. After having played for 44 minutes, Thomás Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Biquinhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomás Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arlindo Ceresso to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Gatos EC's Wágner Porto got control of the ball when Thomás Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Murilo Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gatos EC. In the 77th minute of the match, Arlindo Ceresso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wágner Porto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 79 minutes into the match, Gatos EC's Cauã Bastos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murilo Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80thth minute of the game Gerson Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Biquinhas's Murilo Rocha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute Cauã Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomás Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Biquinhas's Arlindo Ceresso in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 97th minute Arlindo Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Biquinhas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Biquinhas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
