The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Túlio Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. Vitinho Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrianinho de Sena having to make a save. Wágner Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Adrianinho de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitinho Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esporte Clube Noroeste's Gerson Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Esporte Clube Noroeste from getting a goal against them. Gerson Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gildo Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wágner Lopez hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Túlio Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Gerson Tande made a huge save. Guilherme Madureira hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes of play, Baliza's Túlio Santana made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerson Tande was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 28th minute, Kléber Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrianinho de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitinho Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Noroeste's Wágner Lopez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vitinho Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Gerson Tande came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Baliza's Gildo Dante. But to his dismay, Gildo Dante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 72 played minutes Esporte Clube Noroeste got a freekick which was hit by Guilherme Madureira. Gerson Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Santana in the 76th minute of the match. Willian Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dráusio Velloso hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute Willian Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerson Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wágner Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho de Sena having to interfere. Many of Esporte Clube Noroeste's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Esporte Clube Noroeste may have spent more time on the ball, but Baliza were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
