Basílio Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Marco Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. IgorLopesFerreira's Kaká Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato da Silva in the 13th minute of play. Paulo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Pimenta having to interfere. Renato da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paulo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kaká Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Paulo Mendes sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Mendes got free with Kaká Pimenta in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in IgorLopesFerreira's zone, Renato da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Pimenta came out of the goal and Renato da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute of the match, Renato da Silva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kaká Pimenta saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maranhão Atlético Clube's Renato da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabiano Camargo in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaká Pimenta saved IgorLopesFerreira from getting behind. Marco Bezerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Percy Salles went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Renato da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Pimenta having to interfere. After the first half IgorLopesFerreira were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renato da Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to IgorLopesFerreira getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Samuca Domingues hit a great ball. Carlos Fernando Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kaká Pimenta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Paulo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maranhão Atlético Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Pimenta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robinho Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Paulo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 67 minutes, Paulo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maranhão Atlético Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antônio Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antônio Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to IgorLopesFerreira getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Antônio Araújo hit a great ball. If Paulo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. IgorLopesFerreira's Kaká Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Mendes in the 75th minute of play. If Basílio Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the game, Renato da Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kaká Pimenta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Erik Brasil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kaká Pimenta. IgorLopesFerreira's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Maranhão Atlético Clube were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
