Maurício Tinoco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelinho Costa in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute, Jorginho Cerezo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Maurício Tinoco. The goal made the score 1-0. Marcelinho Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Maurício Tinoco made a huge save. A collision led to Botafogo FR getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Gilvan Goiano hit a great ball. Arlindo Souto, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Botafogo FR's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jorginho Cerezo 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Maurício Tinoco made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Marcelinho Costa sent off a good shot on target. Botafogo FR's Maurício Tinoco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo FR from getting a goal against them. After 27 minutes, Marcinho Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo FR and the Tupaciguara players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Botafogo FR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcinho Moraes to maneuver through the defense. When Jorginho Cerezo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Tupaciguara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Cerezo couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Jorginho Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Marcelinho Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Tinoco having to interfere. Breno Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Vítor Cruz having to interfere. After 64 minutes, Jorginho Cerezo made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Botafogo FR's Maurício Tinoco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 66th match minute, Tupaciguara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Marcelinho Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Tinoco having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo FR's zone, Jorginho Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Tinoco came out of the goal and Jorginho Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelinho Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes, Tupaciguara's Marcos Lima shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maurício Tinoco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tupaciguara reached it. When Marcelinho Costa came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Tupaciguara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelinho Costa couldn't finish the play. Marcelinho Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Tinoco having to interfere. If Marcelinho Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Botafogo FR defense, Jorginho Cerezo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurício Tinoco. The Botafogo FR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Tinoco should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tupaciguara fully deserved thier win.
