The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Jonathan Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jano Coelho having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agenor Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's Jonathan Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Jonathan Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes in the game, Alberto Bastos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jano Coelho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Peruanos EC's João Reis got a free kick in the 20th minute. João Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Prestes came free, but Waldir Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Alberto Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jonathan Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 33 minutes, Alberto Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacinto Montenegro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Alex Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peruanos EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jano Coelho made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Alberto Bastos sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Alberto Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jano Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Linhares to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Peruanos EC's Alex Linhares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldir Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Waldir Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Linhares in the 55th minute of play. Jerônimo Prestes took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldir Velloso. Waldir Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Alex Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Léo Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Souza in the 71st minute of play forced Peruanos EC's goalkeeper Jano Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Linhares during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Peruanos EC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Alex Linhares hit a great ball. When Jonathan Souza got free in front of the goal in the 75th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jano Coelho was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Alberto Bastos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jano Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. When Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's Alberto Bastos in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peruanos EC's goalie prevented a goal. Léo Simão's late challenge caught a Peruanos EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Jano Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Bastos in the 88th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Peruanos EC's zone, Alberto Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jano Coelho came out of the goal and Alberto Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jano Coelho having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Linhares came free, but Waldir Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Although Wäytäd Hónved Füsbol Clüb had been in control for most of the match, Peruanos EC still came away with the win.
