The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Léo Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SPARTA FC and the Curuca SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 2nd match minute, SPARTA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Diego Breckenfeld put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Allan de Amaral. A collision led to Curuca SC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dedê Berger hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Curuca SC defense, Roger Guerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belmiro Magalhães. The Curuca SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belmiro Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Belmiro Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Guerra in the 15th minute of the match. Belmiro Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Léo Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute of the match, Léo Alagoano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Belmiro Magalhães was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A hard shot 22 in the game by Léo Alagoano from a close distance when the talented Belmiro Magalhães managed to make a qualified save. Curuca SC's players were relieved. Léo Alagoano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Belmiro Magalhães made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Giuseppe Prestes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Belmiro Magalhães, 3-1. Belmiro Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válter Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Prestes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Belmiro Magalhães. Giuseppe Prestes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. After having played for 45 minutes, Diego Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curuca SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Breckenfeld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roger Guerra was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, SPARTA FC's Válter Baptista got a free kick in the 55th minute. Curuca SC's Belmiro Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter Baptista in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Baptista in the 63rd minute of play forced Curuca SC's goalkeeper Belmiro Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Válter Baptista took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Belmiro Magalhães. Belmiro Magalhães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. SPARTA FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
