An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Vaz in the 12th minute of play forced Damasio's goalkeeper Sidnei da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Armando Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. TIJUCA F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidnei da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute, Luiz Guilherme Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermínio Vaz during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to TIJUCA F.C getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hermínio Vaz hit a great ball. Júlio Alagoano lost his temper 19 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for TIJUCA F.C! Armando Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 minutes, Maurício Nogueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Damasio and the TIJUCA F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of TIJUCA F.C booed when Damasio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes TIJUCA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Nóbrega. Jerônimo Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Alves having to interfere. Damasio's Sidnei da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Cabral in the 30th minute of play. Armando Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Sidnei da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerônimo Urbano got free with Silvinho Alves in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amauri Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Alves having to interfere. With his leg Silvinho Alves managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Damasio's Jerônimo Urbano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Armando Cabral made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amauri Meira in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvinho Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute Amauri Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Amauri Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Damasio's supporters rose to their feet, but Amauri Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the game, Dé Saraiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Damasio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TIJUCA F.C the free kick. The supporters of TIJUCA F.C booed when Damasio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Armando Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armando Cabral struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sidnei da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TIJUCA F.C. When Maurício Nogueira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. The TIJUCA F.C players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Damasio from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
