Emanuel Duarte hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 17 minutes, Jarbas Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltazar Cabral couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Nelson Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Otávio Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otávio Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Otávio Magalhães hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Alcântara in the 27th minute of play forced Bicuiba's goalkeeper Christiano Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltazar Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Lopes having to interfere. Chelsea FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Olavo Freitas 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Marco Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. Nelson Lopes came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bicuiba's Olavo Freitas. But to his dismay, Olavo Freitas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Baltazar Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Baltazar Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bicuiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nelson Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Luiz Fernando Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Baltazar Cabral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nelson Lopes was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Olavo Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Bicuiba booed when Chelsea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Marquez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Baltazar Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Olavo Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelsea FC's Nelson Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Olavo Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Lopes having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Bicuiba players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
