Duarte Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duarte Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cupyra AD's Duarte Neves got a free kick in the 5th minute. João Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, Natanael Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Wellington de Godoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Mangueira was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Beto Fernandez hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Luiz Eduardo Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Valle having to interfere. Oséias Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Eduardo Brodel in the 26th minute. Frank Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Frank Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Capivari SS's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Cruz came free, but Oséias Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cupyra AD's Frank Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Capivari SS's Oséias Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Brodel in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capivari SS's goalkeeper Oséias Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Luiz Eduardo Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cupyra AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Eduardo Brodel couldn't finish the play. Wellington de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Mangueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Penha in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cupyra AD's zone, Wellington de Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Mangueira came out of the goal and Wellington de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Capivari SS's Júlio Penha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Mangueira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Frank Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Cupyra AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Cruz couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capivari SS's goalkeeper Oséias Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Cupyra AD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
