After 9 minutes, Doni Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C.Foz do Iguaçu and the Rajada players grew even worse after the yellow card. Doni Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. The supporters of S.C.Foz do Iguaçu booed when Rajada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão da Costa during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Jeferson Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C.Foz do Iguaçu's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeferson Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denílson Vander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeferson Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Christer Almqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Doni Tasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Vander was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. S.C.Foz do Iguaçu's Doni Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Rajada got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Trigo. In the 71st minute, Doni Tasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Fernando de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Sebastião Sarmento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C.Foz do Iguaçu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rajada the free kick. A collision led to S.C.Foz do Iguaçu getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Sebastião Sarmento hit a great ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 76th minute, when Rajada's Alfredão Trigo after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Christer Almqvist in S.C.Foz do Iguaçu's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Rajada's Denílson Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Tasso in the 78th minute of play. When Jeferson Barbosa came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the S.C.Foz do Iguaçu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeferson Barbosa couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Jeferson Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the S.C.Foz do Iguaçu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
