Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermínio Brito in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olívio Rodrigues scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Carlos Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Herva SC's Hermínio Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anísio Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermínio Brito's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. If Jairo Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Jairo Motta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute, Hermínio Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilson Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilson Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gabriellemes FC's Gilson Vidal got a free kick in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hermínio Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. Hermínio Brito scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anísio Mendes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Olívio Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Motta struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Herva SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gabriellemes FC the free kick. Jairo Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Mendes having to interfere.
