Giovani Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match Bebeto Mumbach sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giovani Loureiro skillfully saved the ball. If Paulão Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Atanasio's Alexandre Santos got a free kick in the 19th minute. Paulão Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Arruda having to interfere. When Mocoto FC's Murillo Campidelis, in the 30th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mocoto FC. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Atanasio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mocoto FC:s goal. The referee gave Mocoto FC a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bebeto Mumbach, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atanasio's Giovani Loureiro. 0-1. If Dráuzio Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murillo Campidelis in the 44th minute of play forced Atanasio's goalkeeper Giovani Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Dráuzio Dracena might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giovani Loureiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moisés Lucas in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilton Arruda saved Mocoto FC from getting behind. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Murillo Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murillo Campidelis in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovani Loureiro saved Atanasio from getting behind. If Murillo Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
