An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Paranaense in the 4th minute of play forced Suico SC's goalkeeper Waldemar Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Renato Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo de Carvalho's late challenge caught a Suico SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldo de Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Piri getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ronaldo de Carvalho hit a great ball. Suico SC's Waldemar Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Paranaense in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Suico SC's goalkeeper Waldemar Barbosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabrício Couto. Hernani Madureira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Willian Paulista fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piri's protests and gave Willian Paulista a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Piri! In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Suico SC. Osmar Mazza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paulo Renato Dionísio. 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Piri's Hernani Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldemar Barbosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Remo Paranaense scored 3-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldemar Barbosa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hernani Madureira charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani Madureira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 played minutes Piri got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Madureira. 66 minutes into the match, Remo Paranaense notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Suico SC's Waldemar Barbosa. Waldemar Barbosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enio Palmeira during the 71st minute. The supporters of Piri booed when Suico SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Piri's José Pedro Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldemar Barbosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-3. Piri's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
