The wind increased when Remo Paranaense made the kick off in the second half. Piri's Enio Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Eduardo Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Paranaense in the 53rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Merusca FC's zone, Remo Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Peres came out of the goal and Remo Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlinhos Carvalho during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Piri played a much better game than Merusca FC and deserved their victory. The Merusca FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
