In the 45thth minute of the game Erik Fernandez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapora SS's Hugo de Souza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robinho Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Aírton Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erik Fernandez in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo de Souza saved Itapora SS from getting behind. Hugo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Salgado in the 56th minute of play. Hugo de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Ademir Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Fernandez in the 92nd minute of play forced Itapora SS's goalkeeper Hugo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itapora SS were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Triumfo's much stronger midfield.
