Falcão Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Falcão Prestes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Falcão Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Erasmo Brasil fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fabrício Favoretto, passed just outside the right post. After 9 played minutes Ibiti SC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio de Queiroz. If Cristian Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Falcão Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcão Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sandrinho Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ibiti SC booed when Itabapoana AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Falcão Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adelino Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiti SC's zone, Gilberto de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandrinho Hermes came out of the goal and Gilberto de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Falcão Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gilberto de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto de Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Brasil to make the kick off. If Falcão Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Falcão Prestes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Sandrinho Hermes made a huge save. In the 63rd minute Gilberto de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto de Medeiros hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Itabapoana AD's Gilberto de Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandrinho Hermes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Chiquinho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandrinho Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The supporters of Itabapoana AD booed when Ibiti SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th match minute, Itabapoana AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Correia to maneuver through the defense. Ibiti SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Itabapoana AD had controlled the match.
