Nelsinho Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edu Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan de Andrade in the 10th minute of the match. Edu Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Iguira's zone, Gilvan de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Maia came out of the goal and Gilvan de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelsinho Melo succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. In the 20th minute, Arlindo Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the game, Tiago Paulista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Edu Maia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Araguar booed when Iguira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nelsinho Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nelsinho Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frédson Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frédson Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Edu Maia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan de Andrade's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 45th match minute, Araguar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giovani Vale made a kick off. Gil Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. When Arlindo Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iguira's protests and gave Arlindo Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. In the last second Edu Maia throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tiago Paulista in the 71stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 72 minutes into the match, Araguar's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Melo came free, but Gil Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovani Vale in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gil Loyola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 79 minutes, Nelsinho Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iguira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilvan de Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilvan de Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Gil Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 93 minutes, Tiago Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araguar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilvan de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Edu Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araguar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Iguira had won after a very even match.
