Fernandão Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Maranhense in the 7th minute of play. Alagoas Futebol CLUB's Fernandão Bertassi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Alagoas Futebol CLUB from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Chaves got free with Fernandão Bertassi in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diguinho Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Molongo's Sérgio Maranhense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernandão Bertassi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Molongo's Sérgio Maranhense in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alagoas Futebol CLUB's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Molongo booed when Alagoas Futebol CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvinho Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sérgio Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Alagoas Futebol CLUB's Fernandão Bertassi got control of the ball when Valdir Chaves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sérgio Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Fernandão Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Molongo's Sérgio Maranhense ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernandão Bertassi. Fernandão Bertassi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 32nd match minute, Molongo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Netto to maneuver through the defense. Cipriano Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Molongo booed when Alagoas Futebol CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armandinho Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cipriano Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geraldo Jacinto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Alagoas Futebol CLUB's zone, Sérgio Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandão Bertassi came out of the goal and Sérgio Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Alagoas Futebol CLUB's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdir Chaves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Valdir Chaves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Valdir Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alagoas Futebol CLUB's Fernandão Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Chaves in the 68th minute of play. Cipriano Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute Ronaldo Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Alagoas Futebol CLUB's Ronaldo Donatello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geraldo Jacinto. That made the score 1-1 after 84 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Molongo's Nuno de Almeida got a free kick in the 88th minute. José de Azevedo, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The Alagoas Futebol CLUB players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Molongo from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
