Raí de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Bittencourt in the 23rd minute of the match. Valdir Coelho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raí de Amorim came out and tried to block the shot, but Valdir Coelho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Coelho got free with Raí de Amorim in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Naldo Carvalho hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The long shot by Elivélton Silveira in the 31st minute really tested Raí de Amorim's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Raí de Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Bittencourt in the 32nd minute. If Valdir Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Daniel Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Bugres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Abreu couldn't finish the play. Ronaldão Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Raí de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldão Vianna was the one to do the kick off. Ronaldão Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raí de Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Parnaso SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Naldo Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
