The shot was stopped by Vivaldo de Azevedo but with some difficulty. Luiz Fábio Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The supporters of TSV 1860 München booed when Mônaco F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Kauã da Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, Valdir Mattos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vivaldo de Azevedo. Valdir Mattos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, TSV 1860 München's Kauã da Rocha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fábio Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luiz Fábio Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauã da Rocha in the 27th minute of play. Valdir Mattos succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kauã da Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã da Rocha in the 52nd minute of play forced Mônaco F.C's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tião de Souza during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tião de Souza hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, TSV 1860 München's goal looked a bit too open when Tiaguinho Vargas came free, but Vivaldo de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Kauã da Rocha recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luiz Fábio Queirós. Kauã da Rocha showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. 82 minutes into the match, Mônaco F.C's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Remo Duarte. If Kauã da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Arthur Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mônaco F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vivaldo de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 99th minute of the match Mônaco F.C got a corner. TSV 1860 München's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Osvaldo Loyola ran over to the corner to take the kick. Osvaldo Loyola made a great header on Mônaco F.C's corner, it was just that TSV 1860 München's Vivaldo de Azevedo managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mônaco F.C had won after a very even match.
