In the 18th minute Vito Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes, Robinho Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carumbe SS and the FC Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carumbe SS's Robinho Teles got a free kick in the 23rd minute. FC Barcelona's Mateus Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Teles in the 31st minute of play. In the 36th minute, Adalmo Xavier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateus Proença was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Aloísio Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Valladares having to interfere. Zézinho Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Mateus Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aloísio Gomes might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Valladares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aloísio Gomes ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zézinho Figueiredo made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zézinho Figueiredo in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateus Proença saved FC Barcelona from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Zézinho Figueiredo put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Mateus Proença. 57 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Adalmo Xavier came free, but Mateus Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adalmo Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Adalmo Xavier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateus Proença was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 95th minute, Wesley das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barcelona's zone, Adalmo Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateus Proença came out of the goal and Adalmo Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Carumbe SS fully deserved thier win.
