Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gerson de Brito made the kick off which started today's match. Kaká Teixeira charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaká Teixeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, Kaká Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giovanni Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giovanni Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. 10 minutes into the match, ZEBRÃO FC's Gerson de Brito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Francisco Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the ZEBRÃO FC defense, Giovanni Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christiano Santos. The ZEBRÃO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christiano Santos should have stopped the shot. Walmir Negri might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Francisco Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmir Negri ran back to his position shaking his head. When Dário da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formiga's protests and gave Dário da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. Dário da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, one of Formiga:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Formiga. The referee gave ZEBRÃO FC a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vladimir Barros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Formiga's João Francisco Lima. 2-1. After a rather tough play, ZEBRÃO FC's Kaká Teixeira got a free kick in the 28th minute. Giovanni Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kléber Aguiar hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Christiano Santos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jonas de Senna. João Francisco Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The wind increased when Olavo Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Lenílson Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ZEBRÃO FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Formiga the free kick. After a rather tough play, ZEBRÃO FC's Lenílson Branco got a free kick in the 53rd minute. João Francisco Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Negri in the 58th minute. Vladimir Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. ZEBRÃO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerson de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ZEBRÃO FC's Gerson de Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerson de Brito in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Francisco Lima saved Formiga from getting behind. After 83 minutes, Hélder de Toledo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formiga and the ZEBRÃO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ZEBRÃO FC booed when Formiga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walmir Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. João Francisco Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Walmir Negri came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the ZEBRÃO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Negri couldn't finish the play. Kaká Teixeira hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Giovanni Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Santos having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Formiga's Olavo Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christiano Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Formiga fans cheered their team off the field, for while ZEBRÃO FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
