After 8 played minutes Espinhal got a freekick which was hit by José Ortiz. ZEBRÃO FC's Vladimir Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Espinhal. When Espinhal's Gino Luz in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ZEBRÃO FC's goalie prevented a goal. 14 minutes into the match, ZEBRÃO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Luz came free, but Christiano Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gino Luz might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gino Luz ran back to his position shaking his head. The ZEBRÃO FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when ZEBRÃO FC's Walmir Negri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Walmir Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christiano Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Ismael Tróia hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 29 played minutes Espinhal got a freekick which was hit by Victor Amaral. In the 39th minute Gino Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lenílson Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Luz in the 43rd minute of play forced ZEBRÃO FC's goalkeeper Christiano Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 minutes, Kaká Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ZEBRÃO FC and the Espinhal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Acácio de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Santos having to interfere. After having played for 48 minutes, Gino Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gino Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gino Luz was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Walmir Negri sped through Espinhal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Conrado de Amorim. Gino Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernandinho Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Gino Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Christiano Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, ZEBRÃO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Gino Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Santos having to interfere. In the 77th minute, one of ZEBRÃO FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ZEBRÃO FC. The goalkeeper, Christiano Santos, was totally fooled by Espinhal's Alfredão Valladares, who 79 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ismael Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Vladimir Barros, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ZEBRÃO FC's zone, Gino Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Santos came out of the goal and Gino Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the ZEBRÃO FC defense, Acácio de Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christiano Santos. The ZEBRÃO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christiano Santos should have stopped the shot. Gino Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Santos having to interfere. Acácio de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Christiano Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 101st minute of the match Alfredão Valladares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Santos skillfully saved the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
