Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luiz Gustavo Alves got the match started through his kick off. After 4 played minutes, Vermelho EC's Telmo Paraíba shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osmar Toledo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vermelho EC reached it. Zeca Fernandes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osmar Toledo having to make a save. Zeca Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Toledo having to interfere. When Edmílson de Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galhao's protests and gave Edmílson de Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. Zeca Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Osmar Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldir de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waldir de Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Galhao's Osmar Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Galhao from getting a goal against them. When Waldir de Brito was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. Vermelho EC's Raúl Freitas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 31st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Galhao. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vermelho EC's goalkeeper Oséas Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osmar Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeca Fernandes in the 36th minute. Oséas Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Paiva in the 37th minute of play. If Ronaldinho Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute Edmílson de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Adolfo Neves's late challenge caught a Galhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Adolfo Neves helped the player get up and apologised. Osmar Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeca Fernandes in the 48th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldinho Paiva made a kick off. Zeca Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Toledo having to interfere. Osmar Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th match minute, Galhao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmílson de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute of the match Vermelho EC got a corner. Galhao's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raúl Freitas ran over to the corner to take the kick. At last the ball reached Luiz Gustavo Alves at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Galhao. 2-0. Zeca Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Osmar Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osmar Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osmar Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Alves in the 84th minute of the match. Luiz Gustavo Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
