Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Erasmo Gonçalves started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Chico Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Brito having to interfere. With a little luck, S.E.R. VILA MARIA's Arlindo de Sousa got control of the ball when Sílvio Luiz Jacinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arlindo de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Gonçalves in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Angai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Mattos to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute of the match Aírton Mattos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélder Brito showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Gonçalves in the 14th minute of play forced S.E.R. VILA MARIA's goalkeeper Arlindo de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sílvio Luiz Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredinho Andrade hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Geovanni Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovanni Proença ran back to his position shaking his head. Sílvio Luiz Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Arlindo de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovanni Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in S.E.R. VILA MARIA's zone, Sílvio Luiz Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo de Sousa came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalberto Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Erasmo Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Angai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Chico Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Erasmo Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo de Sousa having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Chico Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovanni Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute, Régis Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Galvão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arlindo de Sousa. S.E.R. VILA MARIA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Erasmo Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Arlindo de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Gonçalves in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arlindo de Sousa saved S.E.R. VILA MARIA from getting behind. In the 96th minute Sílvio Luiz Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
