The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henrique Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Eusébio Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Taiobeiras FC's Henrique Miranda in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 19 played minutes, Taiobeiras FC's Ademir Penha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eusébio Marques came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Taiobeiras FC reached it. Dito Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrique Miranda in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusébio Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th match minute, Chavantes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Tavares to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st match minute, Taiobeiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo de Senna to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute of the match Claudinei Valle shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norberto Tande showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Beto Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Tande having to interfere. Eusébio Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belchior de Andrade in the 37th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Taiobeiras FC's Belchior de Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eusébio Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Dito Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dito Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belchior de Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. Henrique Miranda might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henrique Miranda ran back to his position shaking his head. Luís Paulo de Senna's late challenge caught a Chavantes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Paulo de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. When Chavantes EC's Beto Pereira in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beto Pereira in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Tande saved Taiobeiras FC from getting behind. Beto Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Tande. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Beto Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Norberto Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 69 minutes, Dito Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chavantes EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dito Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusébio Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Miranda in the 72nd minute. Henrique Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Henrique Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Taiobeiras FC booed when Chavantes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Belchior de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belchior de Andrade in the 84th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Juarês Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Dito Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Yan Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dito Araújo in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Although Chavantes EC had been in control for most of the match, Taiobeiras FC still came away with the win.
