The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Freicheiras's goalkeeper Reynaldo do Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ricardo Donatello fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Freicheiras's protests and gave Ricardo Donatello a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Freicheiras's Ricardo Donatello got a free kick in the 9th minute. The audience was convinced that Virgílio Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo do Valle was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, Freicheiras's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Brasil came free, but Reynaldo do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes Freicheiras got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Donatello. The supporters of Vorpal Swords booed when Freicheiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgílio Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rodolfo Tavares hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. João Augusto Pena might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo do Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Augusto Pena ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the match, Faustão Brasil notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Freicheiras's Reynaldo do Valle. Reynaldo do Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 34 minutes into the match, Freicheiras's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Couto came free, but Reynaldo do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ricardo Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Freicheiras's zone, Virgílio Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo do Valle came out of the goal and Virgílio Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Augusto Pena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reynaldo do Valle. Freicheiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Freicheiras's Washington Sergipano got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Vorpal Swords got a corner. Freicheiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Augusto Pena ran over to the corner to take the kick. João Augusto Pena made a great header on Vorpal Swords's corner, it was just that Freicheiras's Reynaldo do Valle managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

One of Freicheiras:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vorpal Swords:s goal. João Augusto Pena walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Virgílio Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, Eliseu Ribeiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reynaldo do Valle. Eliseu Ribeiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 76 minutes into the match, Freicheiras's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Brasil came free, but Reynaldo do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freicheiras's Reynaldo do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Brasil in the 82nd minute of play. If Virgílio Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Faustão Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo do Valle having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Freicheiras's goalkeeper Reynaldo do Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Couto. In the 93rd minute Faustão Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Brasil in the 97th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Virgílio Couto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reynaldo do Valle, 0-6. When the match was over Vorpal Swords could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Freicheiras throughout the match.
