Maricoabo SS's Joaquim Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamílton Prado in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmyr Couto in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Allan Ortiz saved Perninhas FC from getting behind. Joaquim Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. A collision led to Maricoabo SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Vitório Vander hit a great ball. Maricoabo SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Hamílton Prado scored to the left of an out of position Joaquim Chaves, making the score, 2-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Douglas Freitas put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Perninhas FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Douglas Freitas hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, Maricoabo SS's Narciso Dias broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cristian Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Chaves having to interfere. Maricoabo SS's Joaquim Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Maricoabo SS from getting a goal against them. Wellington Rocha hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, Perninhas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Couto came free, but Allan Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Perninhas FC defense, Aloísio Soeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Allan Ortiz. The Perninhas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Allan Ortiz should have stopped the shot. Lino Quintal hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Perninhas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Couto came free, but Allan Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Cristian Trevisan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquim Chaves. Maricoabo SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Trevisan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Wellington Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perninhas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Maricoabo SS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Perninhas FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
