In the 8th minute of the match Linus Kjellbom sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juarês Batista skillfully saved the ball. When Sebastião Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Cangaceiros FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Amaral couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Cangaceiros FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tião Negri fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Linus Kjellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, Linus Kjellbom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Simonaio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Teixeira came free, but José Carlos Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tião Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Batista having to interfere. Linus Kjellbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simonaio FC's José Carlos Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Teixeira in the 47th minute of play. José Carlos Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Teixeira in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Juarês Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Linus Kjellbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Sebastião Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Cangaceiros FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Baltazar Passos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cangaceiros FC's zone, Tião Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juarês Batista came out of the goal and Tião Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Carlos Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Clemente Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. Tião Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Batista having to interfere. After 75 minutes of play, Simonaio FC's Linus Kjellbom made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juarês Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Simonaio FC's José Carlos Rodrigues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Simonaio FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cangaceiros FC booed when Simonaio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for Simonaio FC. Linus Kjellbom stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juarês Batista. 3-0. In the 96th minute Linus Kjellbom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Linus Kjellbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simonaio FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
