Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramón Hames took the kick off in the first half of the match. 6 minutes into the game, Betinho Barreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Copacabana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jeribatuba the free kick. After 6 played minutes Copacabana got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Barreto. After a rather tough play, Copacabana's Alan de Queirós got a free kick in the 7th minute. Marcos Cordeiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 18th minute of the match, Ramón Hames tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Belmiro Salgado saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Copacabana's Juan Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Matorin in the 20th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Ramiro Matorin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan Lima was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ronaldinho da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Juan Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ronaldinho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramón Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinho Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Belmiro Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Matorin to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Jeribatuba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. When Ramón Hames came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Copacabana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramón Hames couldn't finish the play. Belmiro Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Hames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Jeribatuba booed when Copacabana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionísio Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Hames in the 65th minute of play forced Jeribatuba's goalkeeper Belmiro Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldinho da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeribatuba's Belmiro Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Santos in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Claudinho Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Belmiro Salgado. Jeribatuba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinho Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Claudinho Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belmiro Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Jeribatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Hames came free, but Belmiro Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinho Santos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Belmiro Salgado saved Jeribatuba from getting behind. Jeribatuba's Belmiro Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Hames in the 85th minute of play. After 89 minutes, Alan de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Copacabana and the Jeribatuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Jeribatuba booed when Copacabana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Ramiro Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
